What is SkillsLib.ai?
SkillsLib.ai is a marketplace where you can discover, buy, and sell Claude AI skills. Skills are structured instructions that turn Claude into a specialist for specific professional tasks — from writing legal contracts to reviewing code to generating marketing reports.
What is a Claude skill?
A Claude skill is a carefully crafted set of prompts, workflows, and domain knowledge that tells Claude how to perform a specific task at a professional level. Instead of writing a complex prompt from scratch every time, you use a skill that's been tested and refined to deliver consistent, high-quality results.
Do I need a Claude subscription to use skills?
You need access to Claude to use the skills you purchase. This can be through Claude.ai (free or paid), the Claude API, Claude Code, or any application that uses Claude. The skills themselves work with all Claude plans.
Are skills the same as prompts?
Skills go beyond simple prompts. While a prompt is a single instruction, a skill includes system prompts, structured workflows, output templates, edge case handling, and domain-specific knowledge. Think of it as the difference between asking someone a question and giving them a complete playbook.
Buying Skills
How do I use a skill after purchasing it?
After purchase, you can download the skill file and use it in Claude Code (drop it in your project), Claude Projects (add as a knowledge file), or any Claude conversation (paste into the system prompt). Each skill includes setup instructions.
Can I try a skill before buying?
Every skill listing includes a detailed description, feature list, example use cases, and community reviews. Many sellers also offer free skills so you can experience the quality before purchasing premium ones.
What if a skill doesn't work as expected?
We encourage you to reach out to the seller through the messaging system first — most issues are resolved quickly. You can also leave a review to help other buyers make informed decisions.
Can I use a purchased skill for my whole team?
Licensing depends on the individual skill. Check the license type on the skill listing page. Some skills include team/commercial licenses, while others are for individual use.
Selling Skills
How do I start selling skills?
Switch to seller mode from the dropdown menu, create a store, and publish your first skill. You'll set your own pricing, write a description, and choose the category. Our quality analysis tool helps you improve your skill before publishing.
How much can I charge for a skill?
You set your own price. Skills on the marketplace range from free to $49.99. Pricing should reflect the value your skill provides — consider the time it saves and the expertise it encodes.
What makes a good-selling skill?
The best-selling skills solve a specific, recurring professional problem. They have clear instructions, handle edge cases, produce structured output, and include good documentation. Skills that save professionals significant time tend to command higher prices and better reviews.
Can I update my skill after publishing?
Yes. You can update your skill at any time. Existing buyers benefit from improvements automatically. Many top sellers regularly update their skills for new Claude model versions and based on customer feedback.
Trust & Safety
Are skills checked for harmful content before they're published?
Yes. Every skill uploaded to SkillsLib goes through an automated multi-layered security analysis. The first layer uses pattern matching to catch obvious threats like data exfiltration attempts, system manipulation commands, or credential theft patterns. The second layer uses AI to analyze the skill's intent — distinguishing between legitimate developer tools and malicious content. Skills that fail this check are blocked and cannot be published.
What does the "Verified Safe" badge mean?
The green shield badge on a skill page means the skill passed our security scanner at the time of upload. The scan checked for seven categories of threats: data exfiltration, system manipulation, credential theft, prompt injection, social engineering, malware delivery, and privacy violations. No automated system is perfect, but the badge indicates the skill was analyzed and no threats were detected.
What kind of threats does the security scanner detect?
Our scanner checks for: instructions that send your data to external servers (data exfiltration), commands that delete or modify system files (system harm), attempts to read API keys, SSH keys, or cloud credentials (credential theft), prompts designed to override Claude's safety guidelines (prompt injection), tricks to make you reveal sensitive information (social engineering), downloads of untrusted executables (malware), and unauthorized personal data collection (privacy violations).
Are skills also checked for quality and relevance?
Yes. In addition to security scanning, every skill goes through an AI-powered quality analysis that scores it from 0 to 100. The system checks whether the content is a valid Claude skill (not random text or spam), evaluates its structure, prompt quality, and documentation. Skills scoring below 40 are flagged as low quality. We also run duplicate detection to prevent copied content from being published.
What happens if I find a skill that seems suspicious?
Every skill page has a report button. If you find a skill that appears harmful, misleading, or violates our terms, report it. Our team reviews every report and may remove the skill and take action against the seller's account. We take platform safety seriously.
Can a seller bypass the security check?
No. The security analysis runs during the upload process and must pass before the listing form is even displayed. If a skill is flagged with high or critical severity threats, the upload is blocked entirely. The seller sees what was flagged and must remove the harmful content before re-uploading.
Skill Requests
What is a skill request?
A skill request is a way to tell the community what skills you need. Describe the task you want automated, and sellers can build skills to fulfill your request. Other users can follow requests they're interested in.
How do I follow a skill request?
Click the "Follow" button on any skill request page. You'll be notified when a seller creates a skill that fulfills the request.
Account & Security
Is my payment information secure?
Yes. All payments are processed through Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment processor. We never store your credit card details on our servers.
Can I have both a buyer and seller account?
You don't need separate accounts. Every account can switch between buyer and seller mode from the dropdown menu. Your purchases and your store are all managed under one account.
